Future of the Left - Sheena Is A T-shirt Salesman

The welsh wonders 'Future of the Left' are back with a new single and they're also threatening to put out a new album soon.

The new song is called 'Sheena Is A T-Shirt Salesman' and it's an obvious reference to that famous Ramones song, but furthermore, it's a direct reference to a specific T-shirt that spells a troubling truth about the band's music.

Well, you may have you're own opinions about fashion, music, public image and the space between them, but this band have something to say about it too.

La Sera - Drive On

Here's a good opportunity to recommend the great new album by La Sera.

The ex-Vivian Girls bassist, Katy Goodman, has her second solo album out 'Sees The Light'.
It has some really great tunes on it and even if you didn't really like the Vivian Girls that much (like me) you really should have a listen to this band.

This is their second video off this album and it's actually two songs combined, 'Real Boy' and 'Drive On' which is my favorite track from it.

You check the first single from 'Sees The Light' right here.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - Papa Won't Leave You, Henry (Live)

Today we have Mr. Nick Cave and his merry ol' band The Bad Seeds in the classic live corner of our little blog.

This video was taken in Ljubljana, Slovenia back in 1994. The guys preform one of Cave's greatest moments as a songs craftsman, 'Papa Won't Leave You, Henry' from the album 'Henry's Dream' that came out two years earlier.

Even though Nick Cave falls a bit out of rhythm (2:42) and messes with the lyrics (3:18), his shear intensity and energy and the fact that his band consists of some of the most talented musicians on earth makes this performance unforgettable.

Lower Dens - Propagation

Just a quick post about a new track that emerged out of one of my most anticipated albums of the near future.
The album is called "Nootropics" and it's the second LP by Lower Dens.
After that their first single, "Brains", left me totally infatuated with this band, the second offering from the new album doesn't fail to impress.

"Nootropics" comes out at the beginning of May.

2:54 and Friends

Oh Hi,
Today we have two female fronted bands, one from London, one from Brooklyn.

First off there's the slight shoe-gazey sisters duo called '2:54'.
They have a really nice EP out called 'Scarlet' that you should deferentially check out.
You can listen to some more great tunes they have posted on their soundcloud page.

Next up we have 'Friends' from Brooklyn.
Looking at a few of their live videos you might think they are the most hipster oriented band ever but they still have some nice songs here and there, like this one:
