I've been listening to this brilliant set I found on the Mixcloud page of The Jesus and Mary Chain, it features a nice blend of rockabilly, oldies and dark 80's.
One of the last songs in that mix is called 'Sand' by Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra. It's a pretty cool track, like some of their other collaborations, but it reminded me of something by one of my favorite bands of the recent years. First, have a listen to 'Sand':
now have a listen to 'Revival' by Deerhunter, it's like part II of the same song.
I'm not trying to imply that they ripped them off, they just managed to capture a certain feel that Lee and Nancy had so easily mastered.
